Jon Godfray
Chief Executive Officer
Jon is a very experienced insurance market professional who has played a leading role in the establishment of several companies, including the launch of a successful significant sized MGA platform within the London insurance market.
He was a founding Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Barbican Insurance Group and served initially as chair and subsequently as a Board Director for both of its MGA businesses (Castel & Barbican Protect). During his career, Jon has also been Chief Operating Officer and subsidiary CEO – London (EMEA) at Endurance Worldwide Insurance and headed up the Marine Insurance and London Business Operations at Royal & Sun Alliance plc. Jon holds a BA (Hons) Business Studies and an MA in Marketing.
Mark Harrington
Chief Underwriting Officer
Mark is one of the most experienced underwriters in the London Market and has overseen the launch and provided underwriting oversight for two successful MGA platforms.
During his extensive underwriting career, he was Chief Underwriting Officer at Barbican Insurance Group as well as a founding partner and Board Director, while also a Board Member of the company’s two MGA platforms (Castel & Barbican Protect). Prior to this, Mark was Active Underwriter – Limit Syndicates 2000 and 79 at QBE Insurance Group, and held senior underwriting roles at Zurich Re.
Lloyd Howson
Chief Financial Officer
Lloyd has over twenty-five years’ experience of managing the financial activities of large-scale insurance operations, spanning both London and Lloyd’s markets, as well as two UK based MGA platforms.
He was previously Chief Financial Officer of Barbican Insurance Group, leading the company’s financial team and with responsibility for all Group Board financial reporting and financial operations. Prior to this, Lloyd held several senior positions at RSA Insurance Group, including Finance Director – London Market Division, Legacy Business Director and Managing Director, Engineering Inspection Business. Lloyd is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds a BSc (Hons) in Biology.
Andrew Wood
Underwriting Practice Leader – Financial Lines
Andrew has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, during which time he has developed significant expertise in the International Financial Institutions sector.
Andrew has spent the last 15 years as Head of Financial Lines at IGI, where he developed a portfolio of business across territories including UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Central and South America. Prior to this, Andrew held senior underwriter positions at both Hardy (Underwriting Agency) Limited and GE Insurance Solutions after spending 11 eleven years at Willis Towers Watson.
Ben Cubitt
Senior Underwriter – Financial Lines
Ben has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and possesses a wide range of skills having held roles in both underwriting and claims disciplines.
Ben has been a Financial Institutions underwriter for the last 13 years, having held roles at IGI, Nexus and Ace European Group. Prior to this, Ben worked as a claims adjuster at both Ace and AIG Europe after starting his journey in insurance as a Reinsurance Technician/Claims Handler at Claims Management Group Limited.
Mark Chappels
Underwriting Practice Leader – Specialty Reinsurance
Mark has almost 30 years of market experience exclusive in the Political Risk, Credit Surety and Terrorism reinsurance sector.
A leading figure in the specialist terrorism reinsurance market, Mark spent several years at Transatlantic Reinsurance establishing its Political Violence practice and was head of UK Terrorism at Guy Carpenter. Mark is also familiar with the Lloyds environment from his time as head of line at Gerling Syndicate 1206, and most recently, as a reinsurance manager at Beazley’s Syndicate 623 responsible for group reinsurance purchases for Property and Specialty including terrorism.
Graeme King
Underwriting Practice Leader – Tech E&O
Graeme is a highly accomplished technology specialist, with over 36 years’ experience focused almost entirely on technology/intellectual property law and technology/cyber insurance.
A large part of Graeme’s career spanned underwriting UK and international Tech & Cyber accounts for company markets, including as Global Practice Leader for Tech E&O at Allianz, as well as Lloyd’s syndicates, including as International Technology Underwriter at Hiscox, and Business Group Leader at Barbican syndicate, and as a Managing Director for cyber at an MGA.
Wayne Murphy
Underwriting Practice Leader – General Aviation
Wayne is a seasoned aviation insurance professional with over 30 years of global aviation insurance experience across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
During his career, Wayne has held several senior leadership roles, including Global Head of General Aviation & Aerospace at Swiss Re and Deputy CEO of Trust Insurance Management in Bahrain. His underwriting expertise spans General Aviation, Airlines, Airports and Manufacturers, in a lead and follow capacity.
Scott Dench
Underwriting Practice Leader – Renewable Energy
Scott has over 30 years of broking, claims and underwriting experience in the renewable energy sector.
Scott was one of the founders of GCube, underwriting onshore renewables for both wind and solar risks in the US and Europe. He also helped to start the London office for PERse (RSG) again focusing on underwriting onshore renewables. Most recently, he was Vice President of Albus, an insurtech provider of solutions for the renewable energy sector.
Nick Cox
Practice Leader – Professional Indemnity
Nick is a prominent figure in the professional indemnity sector with a deep technical knowledge based on over 35 years of experience in the London PI market.
During his extensive career, he was Class Underwriter for WRB Underwriting having joined the company in 2004 and has also held underwriting roles at CNA Re and Chubb. Nick has also been a prominent figure within the IUA’s Professional Indemnity Forum.
Paul Witzenfeld
Practice Leader – Property FAC Reinsurance
Paul is a highly respected market figure with decades of experience across the property sector, spanning both underwriting and broking.
Over the past 10 years, he has operated exclusively within the MGA space, most recently leading the property facultative business at Asta, having previously held senior underwriting roles at Castel and PEN Underwriting. Paul began his career in broking, holding senior positions at Bowring, Lowndes Lambert and Alexander Howden, before moving into underwriting as deputy underwriter at CNA Re Corporate Syndicate.
Mike Gardiner
Head of Claims
Mike is a Chartered Loss Adjuster and a highly regarded senior claims specialist with over 40 years of experience in both Lloyd’s and the London insurance market.
Most recently, he was a long-term Consultant to Barbican where he set up and ran the Syndicate 1955 claims department. Prior to this, Mike was a co-founder and Claims Director of the Mitsui Sumitomo London Market operation, with responsibility for claims at Syndicate 3210. He has also held senior claims roles at Chubb and Cunningham Lindsey and was an independent Non-Executive Director at Coverys Managing Agency.
Rachel Keane
Deputy Head of Claims
Rachel is a vastly experienced claims specialist, with over 13 years’ experience in both London and International markets.
Rachel started her career at Kennedy’s Law Firm in Taunton in Somerset, providing claims handling and general third-party administrative support to London Market insurers. Rachel joined International General Insurance (IGI), initially on secondment from Kennedy’s, before ultimately going on to assume the role of Claims Manager, managing a team of five. During this time, Rachel also had oversight responsibility for IGI’s Financial and Professional Lines delegated business.
Rachel was recently Chair of the IUA’s Professional Lines Claims Committee and has a First Class Bachelor of Science degree.
Paul Cogger
Financial Controller
Paul is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Chartered Institute for IT, with extensive experience in designing and implementing finance processes, as well as in database management and financial reporting systems.
With over 30 years in the insurance industry, he has held a range of senior roles across accounting, finance, IT and data in both the General and London insurance markets. Most recently, he served as Senior Digital Product Manager for Finance & Outwards Reinsurance at Arch Insurance (UK). Prior to that, he was Group Finance Systems Manager at Barbican Insurance Group and held similar roles at Aspen Insurance and Groupama Insurance.
Todd Letchford
Finance Operations Accountant
Todd is an AAT-qualified accountant with specialist expertise in operational accounting and financial reporting in the insurance market, with a particular focus on Managing General Agents (MGAs).
He began his finance career in practice in 2022. In 2023 he transitioned into the insurance industry, joining the finance team at Castel Underwriting Agencies. Following Castel’s acquisition with Ryan Specialty in 2024, he strengthened his technical accounting expertise, drove value across the finance function, and played an active role in multiple acquisitions and cross-border mergers.
Jon Rudland
Head of Operations
Jon has extensive industry experience within the Lloyd’s market, initially in an underwriting capacity before transitioning to operations roles in 2016.
Most recently, Jon was a Senior Product Manager at Hamilton with responsibility for the core policy administration system, DUA systems, and bespoke underwriting and operational workflow tools, as well as managing group-wide change initiatives. Prior to this he was Operations Lead – Underwriting overseeing controls and data processes across the company. He joined Hamilton in 2016 having previously worked at Starr Companies and Markel International.
James Buchanan
Administrator – Operations
James started his insurance career in 2022 and gained valuable experience in Downstream Energy & Power and Aerospace classes of business whilst at Convex Insurance.
With a keen interest in optimising processes and enhancing efficiencies, James has transitioned to a wider operational role, where we will look to add further value whilst upholding the company’s high data processing standards.
Olivia Stevens
Underwriting Assistant
Olivia began her insurance career in the Professional Indemnity team at AIG in 2023 and has since gained valuable experience supporting underwriters across a range of classes of business.
With a strong focus on accuracy, organisation, and client service, Olivia has joined Arrow Risk Management as an Underwriting Assistant, where she provides essential support to the underwriting team and contributes to maintaining the company’s high operational standards.
Keen to continue developing her technical knowledge and industry expertise, Olivia is committed to helping drive efficient processes and delivering exceptional service to brokers and clients alike.
